Luna Shadows - “tourist”

The more I’ve listened and re-listened to Luna Shadows’s 2024 album bathwater, the more I’ve come to enjoy each and every track on here, even if at first I was convinced this album had a length issue. But man, this album flows in an incredibly interesting way. “tourist” is slow burn full of vocoders and synths that evolve at a beautiful pace, and to have a track like this as the second song on your album is a fantastic listening-experience-focused play. Even though the lyrics are easy to dismiss at first blush, I think the final repeated lines add so much to the song that it glues everything else together. Fantastic song on a great album.

Nuclear Daisies - “Hush”

Randomly heard this track playing in between CCM anthems in a Hallmark, and was so thrown by the difference that I found the track and listened to it a bunch. I love this song. It’s breezy, groovy, and has a washiness to the production and effects that compliments the beautiful, sunny weather we’ve been having this spring in the PNW. I know nothing about the rest of the music the band has put out or anything about their history, but this is an amazing song.

Karmanjakah - “Dove”

Wow.
